NATURE IS THE ANSWER
As the evidence of the climate crisis grows almost daily, nature and humanity are bearing the brunt of a worsening planetary situation. The need to remove dangerous carbon and other greenhouse gases from the atmosphere is urgent but the somewhere-over-the-horizon hope that Direct Air Capture (DAC) and Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) will save us remains exactly that, someway in the future and arguably over the horizon.
The answer to this crisis and the equally portentous one of lost biodiversity is staring us in the face. Nature surrounds us and offers us hope for the future.
It is also the answer to the increasing demands on business to supercharge efforts to reduce carbon and increase the longevity of natural resources. Nature, if funded and restored will go a long way to solving the twin challenges of the climate crisis and corporate sustainability.
“Fixing our relationship with nature is one of the most urgent challenges of our age. Climate change may grab more headlines, but the depletion of the natural world is an equally severe emergency and one very much fuels the other.
Expressing nature in practical economic terms makes it easier for decision-makers to incorporate it into their plans, while offering reassurance that putting money into nature is a sound investment.”

The EBN Nature Restoration Programme is an ongoing campaign which will democratise access to high integrity UK centric nature projects for EBN members. It is a sponsorship programme enabling our members to support crucial nature-based solutions as a key part of their sustainability strategy. The funding generated will help landowners and project deliverers to invest money into a wide range of biodiversity activities all designed to improve the health of nature in the UK.
